It is worth mentioning that for $321.99 AUD you get the standard OBD-II software, 1 manufactuers specific (in my case Australian Ford) and demo software was also included. My unit was pre registered and setup ready to go. The user manual was easy enough to follow, with plenty of big pictures to help you work everything out. Once I got over the shock I opened my package and examined the contents. actual product packaging! I know a little over the top but almost everything I've ever purchased out of China has arrived in bubble wrap and sticky tape. I am kind of looking forward to something going wrong with my car now, jokes. I started the car up and let it idle, I was able to view live data from the computer, RPM, fuel pressure, oil pressure etc. The one thing I could not find is a way to turn of the service light, I am unsure if that function is supported on this model of car anyway for the C68. In the cluster module I was able to test all dash lights and indicators.

Once into the various systems I was able to test each of the modules, read/clear DTCs and their was even and option in the BEM module to program a new key in however I didn't touch this function as I would have probably ended up bricking my car through ignorance :) I was also able to connect and sucessfully talk to all modules using AUII XR8, Fairmont V8, LTD V8 and a few others so im not sure how many variations their are between the V8 models over the 4 years the AU Falcon was produced. it wasn't their! I however selected AU Fairmont 5.0ltr and was able to make a connection.

Next I selected the Australian Ford software, the year of my vehicle, 1999 and then procceded to look for XR8. It tried its little heart out though quickly moving between 5 different protocols but to no avail. As expected it failed to make a connection.

Luckily I had my dads parts car and by parts car I mean his daily ).Īnyway I digress, I took my shiny new C68 out to my XR8 and plugged it in, now I know its not OBD-II compliant but I was playing with a new toy so I was like what they hey and selected OBD-II. Even FORScan couldn't help me with the MAF sensor. Not that I have ever had any major problems, a MAF sensor here, a faulty fuel pump relay their but they have always take a week to diagnose. just not all at once!) jokes aside this is pretty rare for me. Now, to start of with their are currently no problems with my car (she's a ford mate, she all works.
